Classes are typically done in 45 minute rotations and the cost is $3.00 per student per class unless noted otherwise. The group as a whole is broken up into 2 to 8 smaller groups of 10-15 students. These groups will be together the entire day as they work through the schedule.

Map & Compass

By learning basic directions and the use of numeric bearings each student will be able to effectively navigate using a compass after the completion of this class.

Tree Identification & Usage

Students will actively learn and explore the uses of trees and have a fuller understanding of tree identification, anatomy, growth, aging, and life zones.

Water Ecology

Students will discover the ecological aspects of the lake by looking at the relationships between plants, animals, and their environments

Basic First Aid

Students will learn the basics of first aid bandaging, splinting, and disease prevention techniques by means of hands on learning.

GPS Geocaching

Students will learn the basic history of navigation and how to use the Global Positioning System via a receiver. Class also includes a geocache treasure hunt.

Wilderness Survival

This will engage students with the component of living in the wilderness. Students will learn to build shelters, create fire, and identify edible food found in wildlife.

Animal Tracking

Students will gain an understanding in animal track identification through first-hand exploration, group participation, and the creation/use of track molds.

Archery

By participating in this activity, students will learn the fundamental techniques of archery. Students will be shown effective safety procedures so they may properly enjoy learning the skills needed to use a bow and arrow.
