Why did Christ die?

It is very simple to explain in plain words why Jesus died, but yet it is a truth that can and should be constantly changing a Christian daily regardless of where they are in their life's process of sanctification.

When Adam and Eve first sinned in the garden their relationship with God was severed. The Lord God Yahweh is good and perfect (Psalms 18:30) thus He cannot allow sin, evil, bad, imperfect, to go unpunished. Good and Bad cannot dwell in the same place together.

Just as it is impossible for light and darkness to share space so it is also impossible for a good and perfect God to share space with those who have sinned and done wrong without the penalty for that being paid in full.

Once Adam had sinned all of mankind had fallen short of the glory of God unable to reinstate ourselves into the presence of God. (1 Corinthians 15:22)

Since God is a good, Holy, and Just, our sin(s) past, present, and future, must be atoned for and the penalty paid. Jesus Christ, God's only Son, came to become fully man, so that He could pay the price of man's sin, which was death.

Just as sin came to all men through Adam, so therefore the price could be paid through The One, The perfect, Sinless, Jesus Christ! Fully God & Fully man!

Christ died to be the ransom for your sins. To trample over the power of death by His death.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.

For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

(John 3:16-21 ESV)

Jesus came and died for one reason so that you may have life and have it to the full, which is, to restore it and you to a place where you may once again dwell in the presence of God. Without Christ's propitiatory sacrifice this could not be accomplished.

It is amazing how God sent His only son to die for us while we were condemned. Jesus did not come to condemn us, we had already sinned and were already condemned, He came to saves us from the punishment that we deserved. He gave himself for us!

"Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me..."

The truth of God's word that you have just read demands life change because we cannot stand in the presence of God without Christ therefore since we are sinners we must be change and transformed by Christ blood as it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation.
The old has passed away;
behold, the new has come."

How is the Spirit encouraging you today? How is He working on your regeneration? or If you are already saved how is the Gospel affecting your process of Sanctification?

To God be the Glory for great things He has done!
